Clever weekend title

Ah Monday, your presence means another weekend has ended. Except this weekend wasn't really a "weekend" for me because I made the WONDERFUL decision to work BOTH DAYS. But somehow I still managed to squeeze in tons and tons of fun which is probably why I'm captain of the struggle buss this morning. YOLO

Friday we made our way to the Alabama National Fair (I called it "state"fair last week, that was wrong). We made the spur of the moment decision to go right after work and I don't regret it one bit. It wasn't crowded like it has been on years past when we went on a Saturday at 8 or 9 pm.

We actually didn't ride many rides, just walked around and watched some pretty cool shows. There was the Austrailia show, where they had baby kangaroo's, flying squirrels, a wombat, and a dingo. Then there was the Alligator show. And last was my favorite, the circus. Of course it wasn't a full blown Circus like you would see for real, but it was a good show considering.

Derek introduced me to an "elephant ear" which is essentially a funnel cake except instead of little tubes of cake it's just a giant piece. Like a pancake except bigger and with cinnamon sugar.

Saturday I went to work, then afterward we headed to the Foreigner concert. If you didn't already know (you probably didn't) Foreigner is one of my all time FAVORITE bands. There isn't a song of theirs that I don't like.

I didn't get too many pictures, because I was trying to enjoy the show via my eyeballs instead of through my phone screen. I'm going to say that even though these guys are pretty old (the oldest is 68) they put on a great show.
Sunday after work, my brother's baseball team had a fall ball game in Montgomery so I headed over to watch him play.

He's the little dot waaayyy out in left field.
Warming up
At bat
I've been watching my brother play baseball for the last thirteen years and it hasn't gotten old yet.

How was your weekend??

We recently had the North GA State Fair going on and I'm so sad that I couldn't go...mainly because I missed out on funnel cake, ha!

I think I'm going to start using your phrase, "Captain of the struggle bus." Love it. Glad you were able to squeeze in some fun!

I mean you sure as hell know how to have fun even when you're busy working! I love it, looks like a great time. I am SO craving an elephant ear now. Funnel cakes are my favorite part about fairs. Have a great Monday and get some rest this evening!

Hi, I found you on the Weekend Shennanigans linkup! Clicked cause I love the title of your blog. I've never heard of an elephant ear, it's kinda creepy looking. But as long as it tastes like funnel cake, I'm sure I could get passed how it looks :-)

I'm a nurse, too. I know allllll about working nights, weekends and holidays! Glad you were still able to have fun this weekend! New follower!

I LOVE your KCCO shirt!! My husband has two of them, but I've never seen a female version. I would love to know where you got it.
