November Goals

October Goals update:

Add $800 to my savings account. Partially complete
Due to the fact that I was in a car accident, not all my monies were able to go into savings. But I did much better this month than last month.

Five strict pull-ups. In progress
I can do three in a row without assist! But I would say that's pretty dang good for it being only two and a half months after a broken arm.

SET A BUDGET. Eeehhhhh
I don't know if I would say this one is complete or not, because technically, I did set a budget. Did I stick to it? For about two weeks I was really good about writing everything down in the little categories I made (groceries, gas, fun, etc) but I think my problem was that I didn't look back on the previous month to see what I was actually spending. Like I said, about half way through the month, I just quit keeping track because I knew I had way under-guestimated what my spending should be in some areas.

Study 8 hours a week, divided according to my schedule. Hahahahaha
But really, why did I think this was possible? "Divided according to my schedule?" In reality, I study like two days before my test OR just the day before. It's who I am, what I do. Whatever. It works, I make good grades.

November Goals:

Evaluate October spending, and set a budget
Like I said, I don't think it is realistic to try to set a budget if you don't even know what you were spending in the first place. So sometime this week, I'll be going over every penny (eeep) I spent in October and using that to create a budget for November.

Make a new friend at the gym
I don't know if it's because I'm a girl or what, but I haven't made any friends at my gym. Of course there are people that I see every morning that I exchange "Hello's" with, but Derek has already found a new work out partner + several people he chats with every morning while they work out. What's worse, is they all ask him about me (because we are there together a lot of the time) but none of them will talk TO ME. I swear I'm not mean, just ccome say hi!

Become a better blogger
I know that is kind of vague so here are some sub-goals:
1. Be a better sponsoree, get to know each of my sponsors personally and make it the BEST sponsor experience they can have.
2. Write blog posts on my off days so my writing isn't sparse or hurried.
3. Sponsor two blogs per month, and promote myself on social media platforms (I need to work on utilizing Pinterest and Facebook).

how do you make friends at the gym?! that sounds scary and horrible. but sounds like you did good with october! setting budgets sucks!

I've found that doing sponsorship's with guest post options has really helped me grow my blog.

Also check out Blog Inc. it's such a great blogging resource for me.

I make monthly goals too! I love having the accountability of it! Good luck with that whole budget thing.. That would be a never-ending goal for me!

I kind of made a friend at the gym! We were in class together and she was wearing a tshirt from my college- so I started talking to her. But of course I haven't seen her since then (and forgot her name because I'm a horrible person...)

Making a friend at the gym sounds really intimidating but I bet you'll be able to do it right away. Just don't scare them off with the 3 pull ups you can do (I'm serious about that, I would be intimidated by you doing even one pull up).

Love this idea of setting monthly goals and then reviewing your progress!
For your budget, have you considered Mint.com? It automatically tracks all credit and debit card spending for you, and you can categorize purchases (like Starbucks purchases can be their own budget or be categorized as "Dining" or "Necessary Evil" or really whatever you want. lol). And it's free! My bf and I are using it to try to keep ourselves on track b/c we stink at budgeting too! haha

Shoot girl, I'd feel awesome just going to the gym let alone going to the gym enough to meet a friend there. Good for you.

I've heard it takes about 2-3 months for a budget to really settle and work. I'm hoping that's the truth because I started a strict one last month and it didn't go so well for me either! :)
