The Great Freeze of '14

Okay that title is a little dramatic considering we only got about two inches of snow yesterday, but with the way people are acting you would think we survived some kind of winter apocalypse. But I guess for South Alabama, a few inches of snow is a big deal. They shut down most of the roads and all of the bread and milk is gone from the grocery stores.

I thought I was going to have to spend the night at work last night but my boyfriend came to my rescue, braving the icy roads just so I can sleep on my own bed. It took us twice as long to get home but we made it in the end.

There was literally no one on the roads on the way home. It was a little eerie.

I snapped a quick picture when we got home because I didn't think I'd be able to see the snow in the morning.

But this morning I woke up and there was still a pretty layer of white on the ground and I was able to snap a few pictures.

So today all of my classes were cancelled and I am sitting at home in the middle of an American Horror Story on Netflix.

What are your favorite snow day activities?

I think the last time it snowed where I live was in the 1950's and it only lasted for like two hours so I have no answer to your question. Sad face. but you look pretty in the snow.

My family and friends are freaking out about their .5 inch in Florida. It is crazy that such a big storm has gotten so far south. Yay for snow days! Which season are you watching?

I always think it's a little crazy when entire states shut down because of a little snow. I mean I get it, aaaannnnd I don't. I've actually had a couple snow days from class (not work of course) and I take the time to turn on my electric blanket and snuggle in for a night of Dexter with the BF. Enjoy the white junk while you can!

Having lived in South Tennessee/North Alabama my whole life I was shocked when I moved to Indiana and discovered that when the snow falls life goes on and nothing shuts down...it was a big difference from where I grew up when just the call of snow shuts down everything.

Watching this was too funny! We almost never get a snow day unless we are getting a foot of snow. Catching up on Netflix shows is always on the list of activities though. Have fun!

I can't remember the last time I had a snow day. When I lived at home I had them because my mom lives on a dirt road and those were always the last roads to get cleared. Now I live on a major road. Remind me again why I did that...?
