I'm on a diet

I'm on a diet.

Not that kind of diet. The kind where you starve yourself. Or follow rules such as "nothing white" or "only 1300 calories a day" or anything else like that. Though, I am watching what I put into my body, and I am working on making healthier decisions and maintaining an overall healthier and better lifestyle, that is not the kind of diet I'm talking about today.

The kind of diet I'm talking about today is one for my soul, not for my belly fat. It's for my spiritual and mental well being, in addition to my physical one.

I'm on a diet where I avoid all of the bad things in life, and I try to focus on the good.



I'm on a diet where I stay away from:
- Judging myself
- Destructive relationships
- Negative thoughts about my body
- Stress
- Hate
- Frowning

I'm on a diet where I try to focus on these things instead:
- laughing
- being happy with the way I look
- finding the good in every situation
- hugging
- happy tears
- reading more books
- smiling



I'm doing these things because what shows on the outside, reflects how we feel on the outside. If we sit here day after day and beat ourselves up and compare ourselves to others, always thinking we could do better. Look better. Be better. But in reality, we need to focus on the ways that we are already beautiful. Instead of focusing on ways we can improve, lets focus on the things we have already mastered. 

By doing this, I hope to become happier with myself as a whole person: mind, body, and soul. Won't you join me?

I love it! My post today is reflects a serious need for this!! I was actually thinking of giving myself a "Yes" challenge. For a week or a month, I could only say yes to things (that are safe and legal lol). We'll see! Thank you so much for this post!!

LOVE.THIS. and love the way you put it. I think we could all stand to think more positive and keep negative energy out a little more. It's easier said than done, but definitely doable. Love this!

What a great idea. As girls we get so caught up in diets for our bodies but it can bring up some really negative stuff so I like this kind so much better :)
